The Deming Award

Named for Dr. W. Edwards Deming, the father of total quality management, the Deming Award recognises corporations and individuals that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to quality control, and whose products or inventions make exceptional advances in the pursuit of quality.Less than 100 select companies have won the Deming Medal. Ricoh was the first office equipment manufacturer to win one. And today, Ricoh is the only such company to have won two.

Global 100

Ricoh has been listed as one of the world's most sustainable corporations for six consecutives years, since the list's inception in 2005.

  • The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World is a project initiated by Corporate Knights Inc., with Innovest Strategic Value Advisors Inc. a leading research firm specializing in analyzing “non traditional” drivers of risk and shareholder value including companies’ performance on social, environmental and strategic governance issues.
  • Launched in 2005, the annual Global 100 is announced each year at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Oekom Environmental Ranking 2004

  • Ricoh given worlds Highest Rating in Oekom's Environmental Rating
  • Ricoh was given the highest rating for corporate social responsibility in the category of IT/computers, peripherals, and office electronics in 2004/2005 by Oekem Research AG of Germany (February 6, 2004)

Corportate Environmental Management Level Survey 2004

  • Ricoh ranked first in Nihon Keizai Shimbun's 8th Corporate Environmental Management Level Survey
  • Ricoh achieved equally high scores in all of the seven survey items, including resource recycling and product countermeasures (December 6, 2004)

Certificate of Recognition 2002

  • The Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Senator Richard Alston, awarded a Certificate of Recognition to Ricoh for its continued support of small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and the local ICT industry.
