Ricoh joins the Japan Center for Engagement and Remedy on Business and Human Rights as a regular member
Tokyo, Oct 18, 2024 - Ricoh Company Ltd. announced today it has joined the Japan Center for Engagement and Remedy on Business and Human Rights (JaCER), a general incorporated association in Japan, as a regular member. This not only allows Ricoh’s various external stakeholders to anonymously report human rights grievance towards the company in English or Japanese through JaCER’s Engagement and Remedy Platform, a non-judicial platform in compliance with the United Nations' Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, but also enhances Ricoh’s response to human rights issues.
The Ricoh Group Human Rights Policy declares that Ricoh provides all stakeholders with a comprehensive whistleblowing system and grievance mechanism that enable the reporting of human rights concerns without fear of retaliation. In the past, Ricoh has been promoting initiatives to prevent and mitigate human rights violations by establishing a whistleblowing system, a supplier hotline, and other measures.
Moving forward, JaCER’s Engagement and Remedy Platform and its expert support will be utilized, in addition to Ricoh's own reporting system for external stakeholders, for Ricoh to respond appropriately to human rights complaints from a wider range of stakeholders, while improving legitimacy and transparency.
