Ricoh named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

TOKYO, Japan – November 17th, 2020 – Ricoh today announced that it has been selected for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), one of the world’s most renowned indices for ESG (environmental, social, and governance).

DJSI, compiled by the U.S. firm S&P Dow Jones, was the first global sustainability index to assess a company’s corporate sustainability from the economic, environmental, and social development aspects. The process is considered most stringent based on the number of questions and the depth of information required.

This year, DJSI reviewed approximately 3,500 companies worldwide, selecting 323 companies to the DJSI World Index. Ricoh was recognized as a 2^nd position out of 33 companies in the Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics industry. In this industry, Ricoh obtained the industry’s best score in 11 categories; “Codes of Business Conduct,” “Supply Chain Management,” “Tax Strategy,” “Information Security,” “Innovation Management,” “Environmental Reporting,” “Environmental Policy & Management Systems,” “Climate Strategy,” “Social Reporting,” “Human Rights,” and “Human Capital Development.”

As well as being added to DJSI World Index, the DJSI Asia/Pacific Index included Ricoh for the last three consecutive years.

Ricoh has identified seven material issues, set 14 ESG priority targets, and incorporated them into the business strategies. It will contribute to achieving the SDGs agreed upon by the international community by reinforcing our operational underpinnings to solve social issues and realize the society we are aiming for.
